Jo Sorsby has had a terrible time, she has split with her partner James and is running away for her old life.
As her uncle Wilbur is ill her mother asks her to take over his stationary shop.
At first it's just a favour but over time it becomes something more, she is good at it, she has made new friends, Ruth a vicar, running away from her own problems and Malcolm, crippled with guilt from his past.
She even has a love interest in Eric the Viking.
Things are looking good, she realises she isn't such a loser or just "Average Jo."
Friends, love, hope, dreams, doesn't always follow a straight, conventional path.
Jo is learning as well as living a new life and making lasting connections and friends in the most unlikely of places.
I adored this, I loved all the character, the story just worked so well.
The characters were believable and likeable and this has to be one of my fave reads of the year.
Definitely getting The keeper of stories too now after reading this.
Great author.
