This is a heart-warming and emotional story with amazing characters, set in a stationary shop in London. Jo Sorsby is the main character in this book and looks after this shop, where she ends up meeting and making new friends with some customers, which helps her to move on from some bad experiences of her past. The stories told by the customers are also really interesting. I loved this book a lot and it is not one you would want to put down. The main themes are the power of good friendships and company, and tackling loneliness, and it really makes you think deeply about what a true friend is. It is also a story of self-discovery. I hope to read more of this author's work as i was really drawn to her writing. Sally has also re-instated the love of fountain pens and writing in me, and I have the urge to bring them back out! This is a perfect read for a rainy day.
