The cover of this book was the first selling point for me. The second was that it is based in a stationary shop. With books and stationary as two of my favourite things I could not wait to dive into this novel. The fact that it is a family story is also a big selling point for me, as I love stories about people and generations of families, which the author does extremely well and breathes life into her characters, especially protagonist Jo Sorsby. Her uncle, and other characters who come into her shop in the shape of customers also become another family for her, and we get to know and care about them too. This is mostly down to the excellent writing from the author, who really knows what she is doing. The cover is beautiful, and will look great on any shelf or home library, and would encourage people to pick it up and take a look. They will not be disappointed, as this feel good story is a real page turner and also a cosy Sunday afternoon read.
