I’d read Lefteri’s last novel, and whilst it was beautiful I struggled with the animal brutality, so I was a bit nervous going into this one. It looks like this novel goes in a totally different direction, although from the first few chapters it’s still every bit as emotionally devastating. The writing is exquisite though so I would definitely read more.
