The cover is joyful and attractive. The beginning of the novel is full of contrasts between peace and panic, now and years ago, heroism and fear. I like the technique of introducing the characters via an unseen narrator who muses on various ways of telling the story. I've always enjoyed this style though I've mostly found it in retellings of ancient myths. I already suspect there may be elements of mythemerging in Christy Lefteri's book.
