I loved the cover and title which is eye catching. I was disappointed in the book. After reading the first couple of chapters I was interested to see how the story developed however it was boring and didn’t capture my attention. The characters were strong yet un colourful and therefore made the story uneventful. From reading the first few chapters I got an insight of the story’s plot so therefore didn’t feel the urge to keep reading. The book reads a journal which I found scattered the story so it didn’t read fluid, there was little description so it was difficult to build up a picture before a chapter moved on to something else.. The story has environmental influences and shows how communities come together in times of crisis and reflects situations that are currently happening in today’s world. Maybe my expectations were set too high!
