Wow. What an inspirational story. I always marvel over the descriptions given by this author. She truly makes you live the story with her. I could feel the heat and smell the smoke. I felt afraid.
I loved how it was set out. With the Mum telling the story but in two different ways. It hit home as to the devastation and loss when they finally got to the hospital and could not find the father and so many other people were searching for someone.
The kindness of strangers can not be underestimated. Knowing that she had somewhere for her daughter and her to go to once they were safe must have been overwhelming and no wonder they are friends for life.
So much sadness all caused by 1 man’s greed. I am not surprised by what she did when she found him. I’m not sure any of us would have done differently. She is a brave and courageous women. Who did her best for her family.
