With a cancer diagnosis being given to the main character in the book I can imagine her head would be all over the place. But I can see why she doesn't want to tell her family or her work collegues. She doesn't want to be a victim of the big c. She just wants to carry on with her life as long as possible.....good on her. But I am sure the author has a few troubled moments in store as well as some light hearted parts to her life
