Keira is instantly portrayed as a woman we can all relate to- family life, a group of long-term friends, a career she cares about. She likes rubbish 80s music and watches crappy NYE TV like the rest of us, she has bad habits and vows to start running every year. Except Keira has been diagnosed with breast cancer. That is what makes her story different.

I was drawn in by Keira’s sense of character and her relatable reaction to her diagnosis. I’m 4 chapters in and already rooting for her.

Other interesting characters have already made an appearance. Does the goth runner also have cancer? Does the dodgy-sounding Pierre want to take over her company?

This book seems like a story of strength and overcoming those hurdles life throws at us. Potential to be a real tear jerker OR a story of overcoming illness. Or both!
