Keira, sees in the new year and is content, appreciating the life she has and not wanting anything to change. A mere 3 days later, after a call back for what she believes is another routine mammogram, happily getting on with her day until the realization of this appointment and what it could mean. The shock of the possibility she has cancer, confiding in someone she believed to be a friend, then that long wait for the final diagnosis to be confirmed.

A chance meeting with a lady she met whilst sitting on a bench, who was out running. Whilst she didn't know it at the time, gives her a renewed look at life and helps ignite the fight she needs, not just in beating her cancer... From this new friendship, blossoms into Keira paying that same kindness forward, this then gradually turning into The Cancer Ladies Running Club.

From the very beginning this book had me gripped, whilst it's not based on a true story it felt like it could easily be someone's actual story. The courage these ladies show through such adversity, it'll move you to tears in the highs and the lows, their humour they share will also make you smile. The challenges people face not just with the diagnosis itself but how others react towards you once they know. A moving and inspiring read.
