Sometimes life throws you a curveball. For Keira, that curveball starts with a c: the Big C, to be exact. Suddenly, Keira is no longer the wife, mother or successful business owner; she's the pitying glances, the whispered diagnosis, the cancer victim. But Keira isn't going to let a diagnosis define her. Armed with her running shoes, new found friends and a cocktail of chemo drugs, Keira is taking her life back and kicking cancer's ass, one step at a time.

The Cancer Ladies' Running Club doesn't sugarcoat its subject matter and, reading the book, it's obvious that this story comes from experience. Josie Lloyd shows the effect cancer has not only on the person going through treatment but on those around them too, from friends to family and work colleagues. It's honest and thought provoking, but also funny, heartfelt and uplifting. There are some moments that are a bit slow, but overall, this is an enjoyable book with engaging characters and a message of hope.
