I loved The Cancer Ladies' Running Club, so much so that I read the book in two sittings with several cups of tea!

Keira is a likeable main character who has a job, a family, good friends (mostly) and is constantly busy. So normal, so relatable. She has taken her good health for granted and the breast cancer diagnosis comes completely out of the blue.

Waiting in-between appointments she meets a lady Tamsin who invites her to run with her. A small group of ladies start running with Tamsin, all having being diagnosed or recovering from cancer. The main themes for me apart from the cancer diagnosis was relationships, friendship and resilience.

I love the way Josie Lloyd describes the rollercoaster of emotions Keira feels at different stages of the story. I only read afterwards that the author had gone through breast cancer a few years ago. It shows. Her sense of humour made me laugh out loud which might seem inappropriate. However, it is sometimes at the darkest of times, our sense of humour seems to help us cope.

A super read - 5 stars from me!
