I received a copy of this fantastic, poignant and heart warming read as an ARC from Readers First (through the kindness of a fellow reader as my actual copy didn't arrive!) I am so grateful to have read a story that chimes with an experience so many have to go through.
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 after a routine mammogram. Fortunately, her cancer wasn't as invasive as even the character Kiera's is in this book, but the impact of surgery, radiotherapy and medication following this has its similarities, as do all who suffer from this horrible disease. I'm pleased to say, like Kiera, she now has a clean bill of health.
This novel, based on Josie Lloyd's own experience, is humorous, sad, scary and uplifting. The importance of support and family and friends is paramount, and the incredible ability of the human body to overcome anything is a universal message. I would encourage anyone to read this book!
