this book really surprised me to be completely honest, because i don’t usually enjoy adult fiction all that much.
however, despite all previous hesitations, this is probably up there with one of my favourites of all time.
keira- the main character- was incredibly likeable. not only was she refreshingly bold and honest, but she also embodied a whole range of struggle and fear that you would expect someone in such a situation to go through (i really appreciated that range of honesty and realness).
another superior character was tamsin, the absolute icon that set up the running club in the first place. without giving much away, her journey broke my heart numerous times whilst simultaneously adding much needed lightheartedness to the whole thing.
i really appreciate the author turning their own experiences of this dreadful illness into such a wholesome and (quite frankly) important message. both the characters and settings were written in such a good way that i often found myself getting emotionally attached to both.
this book was beautiful. thankyou.
