From the first moment I started reading I felt uplifted and happy. There is just something about the way this book starts off that made me smile. I love how it is written in first person and you can hear the thoughts of the protagonist because it helps you to delve deeper into the story and the meaning behind.
Furthermore the meaning behind this story is actually quite somber because it’s about breast cancer and how it changed her life. That’s another reason why I liked the happy prologue because it showed me just how quickly things can change because one minute she thought she was healthy and was having fun and then the next she is burdened with the knowledge that she has breast cancer.
There is also the fact that she doesn’t want to tell her kids or her co workers so that’s adds an extra burden onto her. Overall I fell quite sympathetic toward her because it can’t be easy.
