I love how you are instantly delved into something quite dark and mysterious. From the outset, as the reader, you are left questioning and wondering what has happened to Saffron. What happened to affect her life in this way? I also enjoyed how intricately the reader is given insight in to Saffron's apparent feelings towards many things in her life. The delve into her personal life anyhow she had to grow up very quickly gives the reader deeper insight into Saffron's background, which in turn further invests the reader into this character and the story as a whole.
