First of all, the writing style of this book is beautiful and I would love to read more by Phyllida Shrimpton soon!
I love the fact that this book tackled the very real issue of homelessness and its effect on people, however the main character (Saffron) was a bit of a disappointment. While the book itself looks at homelessness as something that could happen to anyone, the main character doesn't really show any compassion towards the homeless but did manage to convey horror at the thought of living amongst them unfortunately.
Despite all of that, the story was quite an interesting book and after finally deciding to pick it up, I finished this book relatively quickly. I'd likely recommend to a friend.
