This book has a bit of a sketchy start writing-wise. It didn't flow well and I was tempted to put it down. I think purely down to the fact that it was a bit melodramatic and the writing was very clumsy. However, after about 5 or so chapters it really came into its own. I learnt a lot about what it can mean to be homeless and that although families may look very different, they are still families. I read this whole book in one sitting which was very satisfying. I never really felt for the main character, she came across too strong-willed for my liking but I did enjoy seeing her development through the book. On a different note, in person, the cover of this book is too bright for my liking. All in all, I did enjoy the book and am looking forward to any future books by this author.
