Set in the 1800s this is the story of Madeleine Pelligrew who was the former mistress of Pendenning Hall. Madeleine finds herself imprisoned and moved from one mad house to another because of false charges. This is a harrowing time of her life until one day a strange man comes to her aid and arranges for her release. Now Madeleine has to find out what happened years ago to cause her years of turmoil and grief.
