I've not read any of this series, but I am definitely now intrigued. I love the family tree and character list at the beginning – this is very helpful when there are a lot of characters. I enjoyed meeting the character of Jacques. He seems to be the villain and I look forward to finding more about him. I found myself rooting for Madeleine, despite only reading a few chapters. I hope that she finds her happiness after all the injustice against her.
