The type of book that has a cover photo of a women in historical dress always puts me off. These types of novel quite simply remind me of my gran so I am judge far too quickly and presume them to be old fashioned and dull. This may not be the case at all however on my only attempt to read one previously I only survive 10 pages. Therefore this book does not appeal.
That said Cornwall is home and it is always fun to read about places you know... And the blurb sounds interesting.
Unfortunately the first few paragraphs just didn't pull me in. We jumped straight into the action which is never a bad thing but I just was neither absorbed or invested by the end of the sample. It's not a story I will be chasing up.
