The main heroine of this book was an enjoyable character to follow. I must admit this was my first time reading a book by this author but I wasn’t disappointed.
Madeleine Pelligrew was imprisoned in false pretences but when a strange man appears out of the blue to release her, she can't quite believe that her freedom comes without a price. Hiding her identity, Madeleine determines to discover the truth about what happened all those years ago.
In my personal opinion I didn’t like the cover of this book. I know I shouldn’t but I do usually judge a book by it’s cover. I tend to say away from people on covers it just doesn’t appeal to me. Nevertheless that didn’t take away my enjoyment of the writing and style of this book overall. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in the genre and book in general they should give this a try for themselves.
