This is a classic romance set in Cornwall.
The story starts of explaining how madeline was captured years ago at an early age and how she thought she would never get out.
It then goes on to show how madeline escapes and begins to find out things from the past and discovers the skeletons in the cupboard.
It is set in war time and rapidly and predictably becomes a love story.
The cover of this book is very generic and doesn't compel you to pick it up to read.
The writing style is quite wordy and was hard to follow for a few pages but once read a chapter or two it becomes easier to read. I didn't like the way the story droibed on and it is quite easy to lose the plot of the storyline with the amount of changing between what was going on. No smooth transition between what was happening then and now.
This was not the genre of story I would usually read so maybe its just because I kept stop starting on reading that I wasn't able to follow the storyline.
