It starts of intriguing. A real cornish mystery of what really happened to her. BUT I just found the split personality and the portrayal of her broken mental health really difficult to follow as broke the story up too much. Then all of a sudden in one chapter it's all gone and all past trauma is gotten over. With her surrogate daughter who has an entirely more interesting back story than the main character.
The love interest I just found to be to unbelievable.
The good things about this book is that the reason shes actually had all this trauma is multi layered and she finds out through letters in a library which I found to be really interesting and brought the plot on forward.
I really wanted to like this book as had some many good points to it but for me ultimately it just fell flat largely due to the main character and how unbelievable she felt to me.
