This isn't really my sort of story, but nevertheless I found that the first impression was well written and quite readable. We are introduced to the main characters, Clare and Sam (who I'm guessing is going to be the new love interest...). Clare is moving back to Little Bramble to live with her mother, after her divorce has recently been finalised. Sam appears to be a local vet who has moved to the area with his younger sister to escape London life.
This has all the hallmarks of a feel-good, curl up by the fire read and (I surprise myself here) I'd be quite happy to do just that...
