In the first page of this book I could instantly transport myself to Clare's garden and picture her boy on the swing! The story seems beautifully written and as a mother it is easy to imagine the thoughts going through Clares mind. The well worded prose helps you imagine Clares dilema and thr feeling of loss at her family moving on.
I really enjoyed the sudden contrast of Sam and the comparison of young and old and man and woman. I'm looking forward to reading this one, although think it will need to be a bit closer to Christmas!
