Firstly it's too early in the year for any mention of Christmas, even in an advance read book title!
I trudged through this first impression pretty sure from the get go that this wasn't my type of read, but wanting to try and give it a go.
Beyond feeling a deep connection and empathy to the prime character Claire's feelings of underachievement and inaddequency in the wider scheme of the world I have very little to commend in this first impression.
Sure the author may well do an admirable job of portraying the emotions and the feelings of the characters and the relationships between them even in a short first impression, but I felt no interest in this story or the wider view of plot and direction.
Definitely not a read suited to me and I'm certain I can read no more of this than I have
