The characters have grabbed my attention, Clare and Samuel are newly settled in Little Bramble, surely Cupid may shoot an arrow to bring them together?

Clare has invested more than half a lifetime in a marriage and mothering; she’s now redundant of the needs of husband (he left her) and son (he’s left the nest for university). She was also made redundant from a job she loved. On reflecting over her life Clare realises her life has placed others’ needs ahead of her own. She threw herself into new young love letting her own career aspirations fall by the wayside. She’s reeling from cumulative losses.

Samuel seems equally empathetic to Clare he’s moved from London to support his sister and her needs.

Surely Clare and Samuel are destined for one another? Or are they too similar periodising others’ needs over their own?

I need to read more and I assure that I will read it promptly to provide reviews for the expectant audience needing Christmas reading cheer, especially if Covid restrictions continue limiting our own family christmas times.
