This book is like your classic feel-good holiday themed movie. Woman finds herself alone, heartbroken, with big dramatic changes in her life and moves home for a bit. Along comes an opportunity for her to get out of the house, as well as face new challenges, and meet new people to give her a new purpose in life after this set-back. Along comes a new love, and it is happily ever after.
While the plot of this book is predictable, due to it's likeness to a classic rom-com movie, it is still an enjoyable festive read just like your classic movie. It is not too heavy, and our main characters are easily likeable and relatable. With 2020 being a tough year, I would recommend this as a pick-me-up book to curl up to, unwind with and just feel some joy right now. While our main protagonist is a 45 year old now single mum, I still feel excited about her new prospects in life brought forward in this book.
