When I first saw this title, I thought `oh no not another Christmas story', and this was because I have already read, and got bored with several books of this genre over the years. However, for some reason I thought I would give this book a try, and now I am glad that I did.
It does not start off very happily because the main character is a lady called Clare who has found herself at a bit of a crossroads in her life. Clare is middle aged ,recently divorced from a somewhat selfish man who has cast her aside through no fault of her own, she has had to sell her home, and go back to live with her mother in the small village that she grew up in. So this does not sound like it will be a very happy seasonal story.
However , we soon find out that Clare is not one for moping about and dwelling on the past with her best years behind her. She is clever, cheerful and resourceful and soon makes an exciting new life for herself.
