This book first stood out to me with it's wonderfully cute front cover, that I thought was exactly what I envisage Christmas to be. I liked the colours, the illustration and the font of the title, which I felt all worked perfectly together.
The story itself was cute and I liked that it didn't focus on a younger character, but rather a more mature female lead, Clare, who had some life experience. To me this was refreshing and made it stand out more from other Christmas romances that I have read in the past. However, I did find it a little difficult to relate to the main character in places, but I think that may be due to the age gap between myself and Clare.
I liked that the book was set in a sweet little village, that I felt added to those cosy Christmas vibes and made the village Christmas show seem really appropriate. I would have maybe liked to have seen a little more romance within the plot, but that's just my personal preference, and for others this would probably be the perfect amount. I could just imagine this book being one of those Christmas films on Netflix, Hallmark or something similar that really got you into the festive spirit.
If you're looking for a cute Christmas read to cosy up with and get you feeling festive, then this is definitely going to do that!
