The country village christmas show is a light read novel set mostly at Christmas time, I would recommend this as an easy read for women aged 35+

The book centralises around its lead character Clare, a recently divorced mother of 1 in her mid forties. You follow Claires story as she returns to her childhood home, repairing herself following the end of her marriage.
Claires story is warming but is somewhat predicatable. In the beginning of the book you can determine how the book will end. But no spoilers here.

That being said it was a pleasant read, i do however have a bug bear...
Sometimes the book refers to Claires mother as 'Claires mother' and other times it refers to her as Elaine. As the character of Elaine had been introduced already it bothered me that she was referred to as Claires mother, almost reminding you, don't forget she is Claires mum.

The books setting is in the town of Little Bramble, my imagination made me think of Rye, Melbourne derbyshire or the village from Hot Fuss. The descriptives of the location honestly made me want to move out of my city home.

I would recommend this book, it was lovely, i have deducted 2 stars from top marks, 1 for being predictable the other for the Elaine descriptives.
