This is a book I would never pick for myself to read. However that been said I like to read all sorts of things out of my comfort zone and I see the appeal of this type of novel. The author writes a realistic protagonist who's life is easily recognisable. Family all grown up, and trying to find where she fits in life now, she needs to find purpose again and moving back home is where she starts.
The comical elements of the writing makes the book a very easy read, perfect for the long winter evenings, and able to brighten up a dull day, sparks of humour flow throughout.
This is a very well written book with rounded and believable characters that allow the reader to sympathise with and share the emotional journey.
This story not only shows the emotion of the main character but also the journeys of all the characters and how they interact as a community. I would definitely recommend it if it is the sort of book you like.
