Exactly my genre of book, the setting immediately drew me in and I was fascinated by the relationships we are introduced to almost immediately. I found my mind wandering to how much further they might be explored later on in the story. Will her son disappoint her?
I’m hoping to delve into the past some more too and wade through the protagonist’s memories.
The style engaged me immediately so I was ready and eager for more by the finish of the first look. The writer describes characters and locations superbly so I felt as though I had a birds eye view into the lives the book follows. The story being based around family appeals to me and although I get the sense that this is essentially a gentle story, I anticipate a good dose of drama. The front cover alone drew my attention and allows my mind to wander to the setting of the story. I think I will want to look for more books by this author too.
