I do love a Christmas book and this one didn’t fail to disappoint. I love the front cover and the blurb intrigued me to want to read the book. I’ve not read anything from this author before so was interested in getting to know a new author. The character of Clare is likeable if not so much relatable. The tale of her having to return home to the little village where she grew up is cute and sets the scene for the story. I think with introducing the vet into the story it was perhaps a little predictable of what was going to happen and there weren’t any cliffhangers or twists to the tale and therefore because of that I have only awarded it four stars. I found the ending naturally predicable too and would have life something a little more interesting to happen to the characters along the way. I would read another book from this author though so altogether 4 stars.
