At the start of the book Clare has recently divorced and is moving out of the family home which is now sold. She moves back in with her mum and her mums Great Dane in her childhood home in a small village. She seems lost and unsure of her future with no home and no job,a strained relationship with her mum and a son at University.
She takes over the dog walking duties where she meets the local vet who is also feeling lost after his little sister meets a new partner and no longer seems to need him as much.
However after she meets her childhood friend and her son moves in she decides to bring back the village Christmas show.
This is a lovely book to read, a nice lighthearted read however it also covers lots of intertwined storylines. The characters are very well rounded and though some of the stories seem typical is is written in a surprising way and keeps you wanting to read on. I really enjoyed this book and found it the perfect winter novel.
