Unfortunately, this book wasn’t what I expected from it.
My main problem was with the dialogue between the characters. It just did not feel realistic or relatable to me at all, and it made the characters lack depth. In addition to that I also found the internal monologues of both of the main characters to be repetitive throughout the book.
There were also a few really odd scenes in the first half of the book which did not seem to fit in with the tone of the rest of the story, and they left me unable to take the rest of the book seriously.
I did really like the village, and how it almost was a character in itself. It gave the book a very cosy setting.
I also have to say I absolutely love the cover, I love the art style and it’s an adorable and festive scene. I am half tempted to keep the book just for its cover!
