First of all I have to mention how pretty the cover is on this book which makes it the perfect Christmas gift.
The story is about Clare, a recently divorced forty something with a son, Kyle who is a University student. The marital home has been sold so Clare had to move back in with her mother, in the village she grew up in.
Her mother owns a Great Dane called Goliath and he provides some of the funny bits in the book.
Clare, with the help of her mother and son, organises a Christmas show in the new village hall. The shows used to be a village tradition at Christmas but since the new village hall replaced the old one there hadn't been a show.
Clare also meets and falls in love with one of the locals in the village, but their romance has a few hiccups along the way.
Overall I would say this is a lovely, heartwarming story which is easy to read and would be perfect to read over Christmas.
