Firstly, the usual thank you to readers first for giving me a copy of this book to read and review.
I was so excited to win this as I love reading a Christmas themed book over Christmas but this one, it just put me in a funk and took me over a month to get through.
I loved Clare and goliaths relationship and Kyle and his grans but I felt that Claire and Sam didn’t have too much in common and it was just a bit bland.
As I mentioned, I love a Christmas story and I just thought this was lacking, a bit of snow and a show at the end - give me more of Jenny’s storyline and a bit of ooft from what Kyle has been up to.
Sorry to say that this book just was not for me but I would still be happy to pass it on to someone else as a nice easy read as I think it could just be the curse of 2020 making me not like this book.
The cover is cute though and I do think Cathy Lake is a good author....
