I have been recently mostly looking for very wholesome, cute romantic comedy books and if that is your vibe then you’ll love this! The Country Village Christmas is a lovely, cosy, wholesome read and is so perfect for the festive season (or any time you want to feel a little bit of festive cheer!!!) Clare is a very relatable character, she is recently divorced and back living in her home town which she views as a regression from the life she lived before. There are a lot of moments throughout the book that are surprisingly sad and has depth but there’s equally cute moments to level it off. I also loved Goliath The Great Dane but maybe that is just me speaking as a dog lover! I would definitely consider Clare and Sam’s budding romance a pretty slow burn so if you’re impatient then it maybe won’t be for you. My main criticism of the book is how Sam’s sister Alyssa’s storyline is handled but that’s only one aspect. Still a pretty lighthearted read!
