This was the perfect Christmas pick me up, I absolutely love stories based in Cornwall and this one didn't disappoint. I read this a few months ago but the festive spirit of the story has still stuck with me. I also live in the country and this perfectly depicts country life, it would make any city dweller yearn for the countryside!If you want a great, easy, romantic read to get you in the mood for Christmas then look no further.
I really took to the main character Clare, being a mother took up all her time and I loved watching her grow over the course of the book and make a real life for herself. I loved her realising that she was not just made to care for her children. She has more of a purpose in life.
I will definitely be looking for more of Cathy Lake's work in the future. After all the Cornish Christmas books I've read I really want to spend Christmas in Cornwall now!
