This book is about Jude Duarte, a mortal, who is taken to faerie with her twin sister and her older sister after her older sisters father kills her parents. Jude has grown up in faerie since she was 7 years old and just wants to fit in there. She feels out of place because of her human parentage and will do almost anything to secure a place among the fae.
Jude was raised by the man who killed her parents, which sparks conflicting emotions in her. Madoc raised her well and took her in as his daughter so Jude feels a love for him but he also killed her birth parents.
Jude’s nemesis in this novel is Cardan, a prince of faerie, and his friends Locke, Valerian and Nicasia. They constantly torment Jude for being mortal. Jude does not have the same abilities as a faerie and they torment her for this.
I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it! I really liked Jude as a character, she is one of my favorite female protagonists. The twist came really unexpectedly. I cannot recommend this book enough, I thought it was brilliant!
