I adored this book! The characters were fresh and bold, and the world building was excellent. As for the plot, it was unique. I went into this expecting some light hearted YA romance read, but it is so much more. The characters are brutal, ambitious and not afraid to do their worst to get where they want. There were some parts I didn't think could get any more brutal, but they did. Holly Black has been dubbed 'The Queen of Faerie' and with this latest release it isn't hard to see why. Taking traditional faerie myths and turning them on their head, making them into something much more mature and dark, Holly Black has carved out her own little stage in the YA pantheon and I have no doubt that the next installment will be just as Wicked!
