A must-read
So when I first started reading this, I wasn’t sure what all the hype was about; I was enjoying it but not thrilled by it. However, this quickly changed once I got into the plot of the idea of court politics and how the themes of family and betrayal were quickly evident. I have to say I do not like Taryn, and I didn’t at the start either but towards the end I really disliked her! Will this change at all as I read on for the rest of the books?
My favourite characters were without a doubt the group of spies; the Bomb, the Ghost and the Roach as I felt they provided some comedic relief, but they were also the first to kind of accept Jude as well which I loved, and I loved how she became a part of the group by the end of the book. The romance elements were very small but there was enough in those small scenes to have you hooked so I know without a doubt I’ll be buying the rest of the series ASAP.
I did enjoy the multiple twists as well as I wasn’t expecting there to be as much as there were, and the last one took me completely by surprise which is always the best kind of surprise!!
