If you guys ever want to see what my true heart’s desires are on paper, read this book. This book is nothing short of magical. The emotion within the conflicting feelings of the main character trying to find herself and her place goes brutally hand in hand with the betrayal and lies imposed upon her. The sense of enemies to lovers also add to the enticing read.
The style of writing was relatively simple and straight forward which makes this book accessible to younger readers. I did enjoy this entertaining novel, although, due to this style of writing, I found it may have been a rather swift read whereas I would have hoped it would have been more similar to the 'Blood and Ash' series.
The plot was highly ingenuitive and certainly went with the magic and surrealism of the fantasy genre. The plot certainly received a 4/5 stars from me. The thing that made me rate this book a 3/5 stars was the style and simplicity of its writing, which seems to aim the series towards younger readers.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs a light but compelling read.
