The Cruel Prince was everything that I wanted from a fantasy novel and more. It has left me gagging for the sequel “The Wicked King”.
The cover artwork is subtle but stunning and really drew me in and is a perfect representation of the story.
I always have loved fairies and the myth of the Fae. It is so rare to see them as something that isn’t always innocent but can be evil and violent.
Jude for me is the character of such complexity and someone who you can go from loving and detesting from page to page. Even all the supporting characters have been so fully realised that you are truly immersed in this world and you will be unable to put this book down.
Holly Black has woven a true masterpiece with this book and I recommend it as a must read for any lover of Fantasy.
