The Cruel Prince is seriously AMAZING. If you haven't read it, what are you doing with your life?? (Jk, but not jk)
Right from the start, we get a snippet of Jude's past life in the non-magical real world, where her parents were murdered right in front of her eyes by a strange man with an otherworldly appearance. Turns out, this man is Madoc, a faerie who brings Jude and her two sisters Taryn and Vivienne into his world, where they continue to live in for more than half of their lives.
So we know that Jude, our narrator and main lead, is human, which gives her an unfair disadvantage to the other inhabitants in the faerie world because humans are looked down upon. This is something that she struggles immensely with during the whole story.
And from then on, we see Jude grow into a highly ambitious person as she goes through trial after trial throughout this book.
The detailed descriptions and characterization were utterly amazing, and I was in awe with every line and word I read. There is a lot of political intrigue as we go on with this book, so if you're not into that, I will suggest you pick another story to go with. But otherwise, go read this book right now!
