Amazing world building and characters but quite a toxic romance dynamic

I found the worldbuilding of this book incredibly fascinating because Holly Black incorporated the Faerie world very well into our world. Every scene and description was written with so much detail and precision, that it was almost as if I was immersed in the world with the characters. The characters themselves were also captivating, with Jude's personality being very relatable and her actions being both exciting and unpredictable.

However, the enemies-to-lovers trope is one of my favourites to read but I found that in this book, I thought the romance displayed to be quite toxic. 'Bullies-to-lovers' would be a more appropriate name for Jude and Cardan's dynamic as Cardan's initial dislike towards Jude was extremely prejudiced. Cardan simply bullied Jude for being human, which was not enjoyable to read.

Nevertheless, this is a great YA book and I look forward to reading more of Holly Black's books in the future.
