I loved this story! It caught my from the very start and I was sucked into Holly Black's amazing imagination.
I love 'dark fae' stories and this definitely falls under that - Jude lives amongst the fae with her human sister, in the house of the man who killed her parents when she was a child. She has grown up and loves it, and all she wants to do is become a knight and receive some recognition that she belongs, even as a human. This is made complicated by the relationships she has built - including the antagonistic one she has with Carden - the titular Cruel Prince.
This story is action packed from the beginning and Jude is a great character - she is far from perfect, but she's interesting and believable and I can't wait to see how the rest of the series goes!
