Such a good book! I can see why some people think of it as a slow burn story but personally for me it made the build up to the ending much more enjoyable and satisfying. I went into this book without hearing any reviews beforehand so I didn’t know what to expect going in. I loved the author’s writing style it was so captivating and she certainly knew how to manipulate your feelings towards any given character. I flew through the book and just couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed the concept of faeries being evil and cunning, always trying to trick everyone for their own benefit. This dark aspect of the story is definitely something that intruiged me. As for the romance, I didn’t see it as such at all and was a little confused when I read other reviews afterwards regarding it. Personally I think the book as a whole is a story of a girl trying to make it in a world that’s entirely not her own.
